Lesson: 15 - Sorting & Conditional formatting in Spreadsheets

Purpose: Students learn about freezing rows/columns, sorting and conditional formatting.

Materials Required

Desktop computer or Laptop & Open office.

Prior knowledge

Students should be comfortable with basic operations in spreadsheets.


Students should know about the usage of relational (<, <=, >, >=) operators.

1. How do you sort and freeze rows / columns in a spreadsheet?

2. Students should create students' mark list in spreadsheet and find the lowest mark and change the cell colour into light red.


Exercise:3


3. Change the colour into light green of the cell which has the first rank in the above mark lis.


Use this excel file to teach, freeze some rows and columns.
